After dental implant surgery, there are several important do’s and don’ts to keep in mind to ensure the success of the procedure. While dental implants typically come with a lifetime guarantee, proper care and maintenance are necessary to ensure their longevity. For those who have received full mouth implants or undergone All on 4/All on 6 procedures, it’s essential;
- To stick to a soft food diet for the first few weeks after surgery to avoid putting too much pressure on the implants.
- To use a water flosser can be helpful in keeping the implant area clean and free of debris.
- To avoid smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, as they can negatively impact the healing.
- To rest and avoid strenuous activity.
- To maintain good oral hygiene practices, including brushing and flossing regularly.
- To visit the dentist for checkups and cleanings.
By following these guidelines, patients can ensure the success of their dental implants and enjoy a healthy, beautiful smile for years to come.
